The AI-driven legal tech startup is scaling up innovation and team expansion, aiming for 35 employees by year-end.
One year after securing a €500,000 pre-seed round, Lexroom.ai, an AI-powered legal technology startup, has closed a €2 million seed funding round led by the Belgian VC firm Entourage. The round also saw participation from new investors such as Swiss-based Verve Ventures and US-based Banyan Ventures, alongside angel investors including Joe Zadeh, former VP of Product at Airbnb and ex-Head of Airbnb Experiences. Existing investors Vento Ventures and X-Equity, with advisory support from FNDX, also reinvested in the startup.
Empowering the Legal Industry with AI
Lexroom.ai leverages generative AI to assist legal professionals by providing advanced tools that streamline key tasks, such as legal research, document analysis, and automated drafting of contracts and legal documents. The company has already partnered with leading law firms, including Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici (corporate law), Ichino Brugnatelli & Associati (labor law), and WST Law & Tax Firm (tax law), to integrate its AI-driven capabilities into legal workflows.
“Since starting our journey with Vento Ventures‘ venture builder in 2023, our vision has been to support legal professionals by optimizing their most valuable resource: time. The backing of investors like Entourage and Verve Ventures will allow us to expand our team and further develop our product, positioning Lexroom.ai as the go-to AI platform for the legal industry in Italy and beyond,” said Paolo Fois, co-founder and CEO of Lexroom.ai.
Expanding Legal AI Solutions with Tax Law Capabilities
Lexroom.ai recently announced a strategic partnership with WST Law & Tax Firm, leading to the development of a specialized tax law module. Designed for lawyers, tax consultants, and corporate legal professionals, this module enhances the efficiency and accuracy of regulatory research and legal drafting.
The new AI-powered module was developed with input from WST’s legal experts, incorporating a vast database of tax regulations, case law, and compliance practices. WST, with a team of over 400 professionals in Italy and an extensive international network, provided its multidisciplinary expertise to ensure the module meets the highest industry standards.
This AI-powered solution integrates real-time updates on tax laws, administrative practices, and court rulings, making it easier for professionals to analyze legal scenarios, draft reports, and ensure compliance. Users can download official legal sources directly from Lexroom.ai’s platform, facilitating in-depth review and critical analysis.
The Impact of AI on Legal Tax Advisory
The complexity and frequent changes in tax regulations have traditionally posed significant challenges for legal professionals. Giuseppe Rigano, executive partner at WST, and Gaetano Pizzitola, tax partner and head of the WST Lab, highlighted the initial skepticism toward AI’s ability to provide reliable tax advisory solutions.
“We had concerns about whether AI could effectively handle the ever-changing nature of tax regulations. During the module’s development, we had to integrate over 1,000 legislative and ministerial acts and analyze 40+ official legal websites. However, after rigorous testing, we found that Lexroom.ai’s platform demonstrated remarkable accuracy in legal writing, regulatory analysis, and jurisprudential interpretation. The ability to download cited sources directly from the platform further enhances the user’s ability to conduct thorough research, ensuring that human expertise remains central to legal decision-making,” they stated.
Legal AI’s Growing Role in the Industry
The legal industry has been historically slow in adopting technological innovations due to stringent regulatory requirements and the complexity of legal analysis. However, AI-driven tools like Lexroom.ai are transforming the field by automating time-consuming tasks, reducing administrative overhead, and enhancing decision-making capabilities.
Since its inception in 2023, Lexroom.ai has rapidly expanded its footprint, serving over 500 clients, including law firms and corporate legal teams. A company statement revealed that 67% of its users reported saving over three hours per week, while 33% experienced savings of more than five hours per week—a significant productivity boost for legal professionals handling complex caseloads.
Martina Domenicali, co-founder and CSO of Lexroom.ai, emphasized the high demand for AI-powered tax law solutions:
“The tax law module has been one of the most requested features by our users. Accountants, tax advisors, and legal professionals operate in an environment where regulatory updates are frequent and complex, making it one of the most challenging areas for compliance and advisory work. Our partnership with WST Law & Tax Firm allows us to bring a highly specialized AI-driven solution to tax professionals, helping them streamline research, improve drafting efficiency, and navigate regulatory changes with confidence.”
AI’s Potential in Reshaping the Legal Sector
Lexroom.ai’s seed funding success reflects the growing appetite for AI-driven transformation in the legal sector. The company’s approach—combining advanced AI capabilities with expert legal partnerships—positions it as a key player in the evolving legal tech landscape.
With its latest funding, Lexroom.ai aims to scale its operations, hire new talent, and enhance its AI platform to cater to a broader legal audience. The company plans to expand beyond the Italian market, bringing its AI-powered legal assistant to international law firms and corporate legal teams.
As AI adoption in legal tech accelerates, startups like Lexroom.ai are paving the way for more efficient, data-driven, and automated legal workflows. The ability to quickly analyze large volumes of legal data, automate drafting, and ensure compliance will undoubtedly redefine how lawyers and legal professionals operate in the digital era.
With AI-powered tools becoming essential for law firms and legal departments, Lexroom.ai’s growth trajectory underscores the broader shift toward tech-enabled legal services, where efficiency, accuracy, and automation are key drivers of innovation. The legal industry’s future is increasingly digital, and Lexroom.ai is well-positioned to lead the charge in this new era of AI-driven legal tech.
