London-based digital health startup Punto Health has successfully raised €2.3 million ($2.7 million) in a Seed funding round. The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development and commercial expansion across key markets in the UK and Spain, meeting the urgent need for advanced, personalized dementia care solutions.

About The Company

Founded in 2023 in London by engineers Anna Muñoz-Farré and Jack Eckersley, Punto Health is a digital health company dedicated to developing AI-powered tools for early detection and personalized support in dementia and cognitive decline. The company claims to have built an operating system for dementia care: a multilingual digital platform that connects patients, carers, and clinicians through three core products:

  1. PuntoTest: An AI-powered, speech-based digital test for assessing cognitive impairment in adults.
  2. PuntoCare: A companion app for patients, carers, and active seniors, offering personalized care plans, cognitive stimulation exercises, nutrition advice, symptom tracking, and wellness support.
  3. PuntoClinic: A clinician-facing dashboard that aggregates patient-reported outcomes and biomarker data to support personalized, data-driven decision-making.

Punto Health’s platform is co-designed and clinically validated in partnership with Ace Alzheimer Centre Barcelona. Together, they are building a speech-based digital biomarker that can detect changes in cognitive status and progression. The platform is already being piloted at institutions including North London NHS FT, NHS Oxleas FT, Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, and Hospital General de Granollers.

Funding Details

The €2.3 million Seed funding round was co-led by Shilling VC and Plus Partners, with participation from notable investors including Exceptional Ventures, Heartfelt, Fondo Bolsa Social, and ABAC Nest.

This significant round builds on substantial prior funding, including a €645k investment round closed in May 2024 and a €718.5k pre-Seed investment. Earlier this year, the company won the NN Social Innovation Startup Award at The Next Web Conference, securing €100k and a year-long mentorship program.

Anna Muñoz-Farré, CEO and co-founder of Punto Health, highlighted the company’s mission: “Dementia is never just one person’s disease. It affects entire families, and carers often carry an enormous invisible burden. We are building technology that turns a reactive, crisis-driven system into proactive, personalised support that fits into people’s real lives.”

Muñoz-Farré also emphasized the company’s commitment to diversity and impact: “As a technical founder, I have the chance to build a team that looks more like the real world, and to show young women that they belong in AI and health tech. But most of all, I want families to feel they have a trusted companion at every step.”

Market Opportunity

The global burden of dementia is immense, creating a vast and urgent market need for scalable, effective digital health solutions. Traditional care models often lack the continuity and personalization required for effective disease management. Punto Health’s full-stack approach—connecting early detection, patient support, and clinician insights via AI—positions it as a leader in transforming this segment.

The company’s clinical validation with the Ace Alzheimer Centre and successful pilot programs in both the UK (NHS) and Spain demonstrate a strong commitment to evidence-based development and cross-market applicability, providing a credible alternative to conventional cognitive assessment methods. The platform currently supports over 200 users, who have completed more than 30,000 activities, with two-thirds reporting improved confidence in managing their routines.

Use of Funds

Punto Health will strategically deploy the €2.3 million to accelerate two core areas. First, the capital will be used to significantly accelerate product development, enhancing the AI capabilities within PuntoTest and expanding the functionality of the PuntoCare app to provide deeper, more personalized support. Second, the funding will fuel commercial expansion efforts, focusing on rapidly increasing adoption across the UK and Spain by deepening existing pilot programs and forging new strategic partnerships with healthcare providers and researchers. The company will also continue to leverage its inclusion in prestigious programs like the AI-First Google Accelerator 2025 and the AD Moonshot by Startup Health.
